Con Edison currently runs a Smart Usage Rewards program that allows homeowners to receive $85 rebate when they register their eligible smart thermostat. When you enroll into the program, you agree to let Con Edison make brief, limited adjustments to your Wi-Fi thermostat during times of peak electric demand and Con Edison rewards you with $85 rebate for each thermostat.
How does this program work:
- You must be a Con Edison residential electric customer or a Con Edison gas account and gas heating
- You must have central air conditioning
- You must have a Wi-Fi network
- You must have an approved thermostat
- Con Edison will make brief, limited adjustments to your central air-conditioner setting when demand is high.
- Each temperature adjustment will last no longer than four hours and will take place sometime between 11:00 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays.
- Your participation is risk-free. You’ll always have control of your thermostat and can change the settings at any time.
- You will get a confirmation email and an $85 rebate check(s) within six to eight weeks.
