Orange & Rockland Customers Can Save Additional $85 on a Smart Thermostat

Orange & Rockland currently runs a Bring Your Own Thermostat program that allows homeowners to receive $85 rebate when they register their eligible smart thermostat. When you enroll into the program, you agree to let Orange & Rockland make brief, limited adjustments to your Wi-Fi thermostat during times of peak electric demand and Orange & Rockland rewards you with $85 rebate for each thermostat.

How does this programs work:

  1. You must be an O&R residential or small business electric customer located in New York
  2. You must have central air conditioning
  3. You must have a Wi-Fi network
  4. You must have an approved thermostat
  5. Orange & Rockland will make brief, limited adjustments to your central air-conditioner setting.
  6. A maximum of 10 adjustments each summer (from May 1 through September 30) will be made, unless there’s a power emergency.
  7. Each temperature adjustment will last no longer than four hours and will take place sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays.
  8. Your participation is risk-free. You’ll always have control of your thermostat and can change the settings at any time.
  9. You will get a confirmation email and an $85 rebate check(s) from O&R within six to eight weeks.

  4. Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat RTH9580WF or TH9320WF, Wi-Fi 7-Day Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat (RTH8580WF or TH8320WF), Wi-Fi Vision PRO 8000 (TH8321WF)
  5. Lux/GEO
  6. Emerson/SensiTM Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat
